For all Yuki’s patients, she treats both the mind and body and uses a number of techniques to set her patients at ease and on the path to healing including acupuncture, moxibustion, Chinese herbal medicine, tuina massage, cupping as well as nutritional advice based on the TCM principals of a medicated diet.
Atsuko has studied and practiced Namikoshi Shiatsu since 2002, learned Swedish massage in 2014, and became a registered massage therapist in 2015.
Atsuko’s health care profession began as a geriatric care worker in Tokyo, Japan. She realized that constant shiatsu/massage treatments were effective for physical and mental wellness and she so chose to pursue a path as a therapist.
Atsuko can customize massage services to include Shiatsu, Swedish massage and Thai massage to adjust for each client’s condition, their preferences and their treatment goals.
She would love to discuss the treatment that works for you.
Yuki (Yama) Yamasaki
Yama is a registered Acupuncturist under the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO), as well as has been practicing as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist since 2009.
Yama was introduced to the power of traditional eastern medicine about 15 years ago when she was experiencing chronic health issues that western medical tests couldn’t explain. However, a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner was able to diagnose and clearly explain what was happening inside of her by simply listening to her, as well as observing and checking her pulse and tongue!
She was so grateful to have answers and hope on her journey to health. Yama was so inspired by this experience that she wanted to know more about this amazing eastern knowledge system and became a licensed Acupuncturist.
Her vision is to raise awareness about the effectiveness of traditional eastern wisdom in supporting health, while also supporting individuals to take responsibility for their own health and wellness.
Yama has 2 core ideas that guide her practice:
“We are designed to heal ourselves.”
Yama, working with the natural intelligence of the body, focuses on delivering patient- centered healthcare that meets individuals where they are to support them working towards their health goals and improve their quality of life “We are what we digest.”
Everything you eat is important, but also needs to be properly digested to nourish your body, mind and skin. Yama uses techniques and nutritional guidance in her treatments to support digestion, while also encouraging people to eat seasonally, locally and mindfully with joy and appreciation to encourage overall health.
